Towing my 1994 Chevy full size Blazer behind my motor home?

Asked by Old_Hippie_52 Jan 21, 2009 at 11:04 AM about the 1994 Chevrolet Blazer

Question type: General

Can I put the transfer case in neutral and the trans in neutral and be able to pull it with a tow bar behind my motor home without damage? Thanks much! Harold

That is not a good idea, Not unles you have a ton of money to repair it. These trucks are not flat-towable (just VERY short distances). You would need to put it on a flat bed trailer.

I agree with this user and to add to that. Even if the transfer case is disconnected. The components inside the front and/or rear differential will be running in an overdrive final ratio as oppose to the underdrive ratio as they were designed to operate. As the user said, I would use a flat bed trailer.

you could use a dolly cart on the front and use a driveshaft quick disconnet and or drop it out but that would mean climbing under it all the time. you could try one of the bigger motorhome supply places such as camping world.

Yes.and yes. So long as you leave the steering wheel unlocked.I must be able to TRACK,the vehicle that is in front of it.Just turn the key back to you and the dash lights will go out.Without turning the key back as to not lock the steering column.
