can a starter from an all wheel drive astro van be transferred to a regular drive astro van? and will it work okay?

Al things being equal, yes. Call your local auto parts store and ask if both models take the same starter. Or... Go to Amazon or Ebay. I bought a NEW Hi-Torque starter cheaper than a rebuilt factory starter. Over a year later and stil starts e-a-s-y. :) The Ammo Guy 8-) Aim small, miss small.
