Can anyone tell me if there is a fuel pressure regulator on
a 2008 taurus x sel 3.5L and where it is located

the fpr is a tiny round piece that sits on the fuel rail. usually has a vacuum line on top of it or beside it. has a spring diaphragm inside that can sometimes stick or just quit working right due age. you have so much fuel pressure coming to the rail during normal driving conditions and basically any unused or unneeded fuel goes back to the tank if you have the reverse return system. HOWEVER if you have a bad check valve in your pump, it will definitely interfere with normal ops

Thank you Randy but for whatever reason the 2008 ford taurus x sel doesn't have it there and we can't seem to find it anywhere
If you look at an online automotive parts book, if it doesn't show a fuel pressure regulator, that usually means the regulator is part of fuel pump. If returnless fuel system, meaning only one fuel line to engine, no return line, then regulator--filter all that stuff is usually located at the fuel pump. good luck

Hi Oilyspill, thank you for your response do you know how you would test the fuel pressure then
Guru95 that's really kind of you to aak for help but then you only mark his response helpful but not mine. That makes a lot of sense. Although i did find his response a good reason to stay away from Taurus. I appreciate you considering the time and thought process it takes.
