I advise to do as Tom stated. This has always worked great for me. Rings tend to stick to cylinder walls. The lube will free them up without causing any damage. Also after removing the old fuel from tank undo fuel line at engine and cycle fuel pump till fresh gas comes out. Also remove all the belts off the pulleys. They tend to get stuck to the pulleys over time and will not allow the engine to turn over. Normally just removing them and wiping pulleys and belts down with a rag will clean them up enough so they won't stick.
