I have a 2006 polo power steering light flashes and no power assisted steering any help

Does that year use power steering fluid or it it electric steering?

It uses power steering fluid and the pump is electrically driven

I have something you can try that worked for me when my power steering had gotten hard to steer. Try putting some Lucas power steering fluid stabilizer into your pump. If you have fluid in the pump just take something like a turkey bastor to remove some of the fluid then add the Lucas not saying it's going to work but it's worth a try.
