Will a 265/70R17 fit a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 2WD SLE?
I know this truck sometimes comes with 265/70R17, but when looking online, the guides I'm finding say it doesn't. What's the right answer? Thanks!

What's inside the door on the sticker, that's what goes on it.

No......it's not limited to just what's on the door.
Your correct it isn't limited to just that. But if you go changing sizes without knowing how to change it then your speedometer could end up off. The odometer could end up off. The SAI (steering axis inclination) could change making it more difficult to steer causing lots of added stress to your steering components. There are quite a few other things that can end up changing and messing things up. I'll ask again and this time I will inform you that there is a reason behind my question. What is on that sticker? I had a 1990 2WD 1500 with 31X10.5s it messed with my speedo, the original tires were much smaller than that. If I ever wanted to calculate my MPG I had to do some extra math because the odometer was incorrect so I had to adjust for that. Its more than just the ability to put those tires on it, its a matter of what will be effected by them.

The door sticker says 245/70-17, but I know for a fact that this same truck, only an SLT can have a 265/70R17. The difference between an SLE and SLT is just in the bells and whistles, if I'm not mistaken.
The 265 will be 20mm wider so almost an inch and 28mm taller which is just over an inch. The width won't make much of a difference but the height will change the speedo. After installing these tires you can have a local performance shop do a quick flash on your pcm to accept the new tires. Your local GM dealer could also do this but at a higher cost. Either way its a 15-20 minute procedure so it will cost probably between 15 and 25 US dollars depending on the shop.
wll i got 03 chevy and i got a tick for going 75 the cop told me i was going 83 my sides of tires are 265/70R17
