IF I REPLACE MY INTAKE, CAN I USE A ROTOR/ DISTRIBUTOR AND TAKE THE TIMING FROM THE CRANK?

broken
tabs on block at starter bolt holes on block/ have a 350 with distributor/
will it time if i take the crank timing and reroute it to the distributor?

also what year ????? are you using an older distributor?? with a pickup???

the truck is a 1998 1500hd gmc/ replacing w/1996 gmc/ the96 has distributor. everything else is the same except for the wires that run the timing / the 98 wires run to the crank
