ford galaxy brakes
i have a ford galaxy 2009, and recently i found out a very annoying problem: every time i take a turn which is a little sharp (most of the times a sharp left turn), the barkes discs in the front wheels (most of the times the front left) make a squeal, what can i do to fix it before i go to a garage and spend money?

remove the caliper, then remove pads (identify left/right) then use a sandpaper and sand the surface a little, and sand the 2 extremity to give them like 45 degree, put some anti seize on the back of the pads and the noize should disapear.oh and use a 80 grit for your sandpaper
well.... i have to say you sound like a professional. i hope i'll have time to try it this week and i hope it will work, anyway thax very much alex
if the noise is still there, maybe its cheap pads (metallic) should use better quality pads like semi-metallic or ceramic.oh and by the way a little trick to know how much % of brakes remaining just measure the thickness of the material of the pads, usually new pads have 10mm (1cm) so if you have like 6mm remaining your pad life is 60% left
hey you're the pro, thanx very much i'll try what you said, but isn't ceramic pads costs a lot?
yes they are more expensive but worth it,their life is longer than other type and the heat range is lower so it provide better braking
i need to check how much will it cost me but im not sure i'll ceramic straight away. by the way, with all that knowlegd, what car do you have?
