Having trouble with power drain with ignition off

Asked by YParmentier Dec 22, 2014 at 06:32 PM about the Datsun 280Z

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1983 Datsun 280ZX.  After sitting for a couple days it will not start.  I have
replaced the battery, had my car checked out by a mechanic who found nothing wrong
such as a bad alternator, etc.  I can jump start it and it will run okay.  Any ideas as to
what the problem might be?  Anyone had this problem before and found out how to fix it?

Parasitic battery drain... some circuit is staying open after you've turned the engine off and is draining the battery. Lot of articles and videos if you research Parasitic Battery Drain.
