Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1977 280z Datsun keeps lurching while I'm
driving. It's been happening a lot lately and it
backfires. What could it possibly be?

Well sorry to say you may need to figure out more details to give because It could be almost anything to rich to timing, misfiring, loose electrical connections, bad spark plugs or wires, dirty air filter, vacuum leaks, car out of adjustment, dirty or rusty fuel, or filter, exhaust bend, distributor, cap or button, water in distributor cap, burned valves, ect.ect, do a good overall check and turn up, figure out whats good and what is not.

probably fuel filters are clogged, but could also be the Pickup eye inside the distributor going bad.
