Is the new skyline better than the old one???
1 Answer
The R35 GTR is not a Skyline. Five years ago Nissan new they would be re-branding the successor for the R34 Skyline, hence the 'officially' recognised enthusiasts club is known as the GTROC. The Skyline name was transferred to their American luxury label Infiniti, hence the G35 (the 350Z with back seats & better build quality) is badged Skyline & the new car is simply the Nissan R35 GTR. In regards to your question do you prefer Coke or Pepsi? McDonalds or Burger King? To drive the new R35 is easier as there is better technology, more advanced computers & years of previous experience & design gone into this car. Not to mention the more modern interior compared to the plastic ones of previous models! When Nissan wanted a successor to the R34 they started from scratch, so you can't really compare it to the Grand Turismo known models from the R32 to R34. The same can be said to the previous models as well. I own the R32 GTR which many call the Godzilla as this was the racing model that decimated all. Compared to my previous R33, I actually prefer the older car & to me it drives better. Now my R32 in comparrison to the R35 you can't. There two different breeds sharing the GTR badge, but the difference between driving lets say an R32 & an R35 if they were made to similar specs ... you'd need more skill for the R32.
