1993 Deville 60 Special Climate Control is wacko

HI
Car has not been driven for like 1 week, due to the 100 plus daily weather for weeks I cold started the engine and while parked for 5 minutes
I than pressed the auto button of HVAC control head. A/C was on but few minutes later the screen of the head showed HVAC wacko in that would cycle
everything heat, A/C, fans, defrost, etc Just keeps doing that and even pressing the off button within a minute comes back on and cycles again
Even turn the car off for like 5 minutes and starting it again on its own the HVAC keeps cycling, I can tell A/C coming on and off, changes of fans speeds, etc
Using OBD1 scanner, find no error codes tripped
Any ideas on how to debug/fix this ?
Thanks for any ideas !

You will need the HVAC code ran, they are separate from OBD codes and use the control head itself, but if the control head is bad then it won’t diagnose itself. Find an old Cadillac guy, you won’t find them at the dealership that’s for sure. Independent shops.
Sounds like the control panel is bad. You don't need a scan tool to get trouble codes from this vehicle. You use the climate control panel. With the ignition in the run position and the engine not running press and hold the off and warmer buttons on the control panel. Once in diagnosis mode you can scroll through the different systems (engine, climate control, ABS, and airbags) and see the codes on the climate control display. You'll need a shop manual to navigate through the different systems though. If you can't get into the diagnosis mode, replace the control panel. Hope that helps! Jim
Thanks, but Cannot use the ECC as it is what is wacko so cannot get into the on-board diagnostics
I had a similar problem with the climate control panel on my 94 Fleetwood. I replaced the control panel and it's been fine ever since. Jim
That's terrible news, that means your stuck with the dealer. I hope they still have the old test equipment for that system and you can still get parts(possibly used). Other wise everything will have to be rewired and re-plumbed for the vacuum systems, and that is not going to be cheap, plus the dealer will not do it. You may want to consider retiring it if parts become an issue.
