My 05 Cadilac STS won't start and is displaying message saying starting disabled theft problem

It sounds like the car went into what we call "limp mode" did the battery go bad or any other malfunctions?

Bout car from auction and it starts sometimes and sometimes it doesnt

The fab my need a new battery u think and the shop said it might be a security issue

So, was it the battery? Cause, I have same issue, but i just replaced the computer in it and I'm trying to re-program the fob. Just get to final step and says no fob detected, and then starting disabled message.
