Turn the emergency key and gently pull the trunk lid up. Be sure to lift it evenly or it will catch on the corner closest to the entry doors. Once open, it should stay up until you close it, either with the button or manually. By the way, this is much easier if you have one person on the key and one to open the lid.

The key doesn’t open the trunk it says. If the key doesn’t open the trunk lid, how are you suppose to pull up on it evenly and open it? It’s locked. The key won’t unlatch it. Jeez. I have the same problem. I know how heavy that lid is. But if the key doesn’t unlatch it, you won’t be “lifting up gently”, or at all. It’s locked. So, is there a way to access the manual door release that’s inside the trunk on the drivers side possibly through the rear fender well?
