why will the transmission click into the emergency gear if nothing is wrong.

For no apparent reason the tranny clicks into emergency mode.

Have the codes read. It is usually the contacts at the transmission were corroded. The assumption is that the additional water in the area caused a random fault code, resulting the emergency mode. The code(s) were cleared and the connections cleaned. No more problem!
