Paint work
I had a new windscreen fitted to my pink and white
Citroen ds 3. The tape the guy used to hold in place
was stuck to the roof and windscreen . He told me
to remove aftercan hour which I did . When I did
this it removed the pink paint from my roof with the
tape to my horror my roof now needs a full respray
and the window fitter says it’s not his fault and I
should foot the bill my argument is my car roof was
fine till he put the tape on . Would like people’s
opinions or help with this matter please

What kind of tape? If he used the right type and your paint was good there would not have been a problem.
It was tape he’s always used but he did say he’s not used it on a coloured roof before my car is 6 years old and had no issues with paint at all the roof was perfect
Without knowing the tape used I cannot help. What color was it?
You could probably make a case out of it in small claims court and win, since it's damage clearly caused by his tape, and he would have to prove there was something wrong with the paint, then yada yada yada you would probably win some small amount of money... at least that's what I learned from watching Judge Judy. Truth be told, that damage might just be the clear coat that lifted, and not the paint itself, unless you saw paint on the tape he peeled off the car. If the color coat is okay, then it can just be lightly sanded and reshot with clear. I can also tell you from my own experience, I would NEVER put a big gob of tape on a car's finish, because this does happen. I ruined a brand new paint job on an old classic car, by taping off some edges before buffing it out. Lesson learned, no tape on car's paint if at all possible.
The tape used was clear he said he’s used it fir years but never done a coloured roof x
