Check for spark to see if it is a ignition issue. If there is spark then a fuel pressure bleed down test would need to be done.
I have spark. Runs fine with starter fluid. How do I check fuel pressure? Have 5.7 engine
Good morning. To check the fuel pressure you need a fuel pressure gauge to hook up the Schrader valve up in the fuel line on the intake manifold. You turn the key to the on position to build up fuel pressure. Fuel pressure should be 56 to 63 lbs. Then turn the key to the off position and watch the fuel pressure gauge. Pressure should not drop more than 5 lbs. in 3 minutes. If it bleeds down then the spider injection is leaking and the assembly would need replacing. The spider injection is a common problem if original. New spider injection assemblies have ben up-graded.
