Changing front clips
Asked by Gfunk418 Mar 29, 2013 at 12:30 AM about the Chevrolet Vega
Question type: Car Customization
I have a 1976 chevy vega and a 1973
vega, I was wondering if the front
clips are interchangeable? I would
like to swap front clips, but don't
want to start taking both cars apart
to find out later they don't fit!?

By 'clips' you mean attachment paddocks. The construction of this one isn't entirely frame, but par-unibody as I recall you are going to have to take a few measurements, but if it's vega to vega honestly wouldn't even bother measuring and bring in the engine crane and engine stand...use fresh rubber if available~
By front clip I meant, fenders, nose piece, bumper, cowl , hood?
I don't think anything on the 1971-79 Vega ever changed so everything should bolt up. It was a small, inexpensive car that could hold a V8 engine.

ya, but once you do the brakes will not support the added weight. This 'sleeper' is an impractical combination. Did not think there was room under there for a V8, guess you learn somethin' new everyday.
Rad support from 1971 to 3 is the same, but 1974 the rad support changed

I was kind of wondering if a 72 split bumper front end would bolt up to a 76 but it looks like my question was answered. I dont like the new front ends and the think the older 72 split bumper would look much better
