Shakey Start
Sometimes, when i havent ran my car in a while, it takes a long time for the car to start. i turn the key and the engine cranks for about 5-10 seconds. then when it finally starts the "ESP BAS" light comes on. then when i turn it off and restart it it goes away. im rying to figure out what the problem is. my best guess is either an ignition, computer, or fuel pressure problem. what do you think??

A quick search on yahoo resulted in "electronic stability program, brake assist system" so I don't think it is any of the things you mentioned. I know on my Saab when I haven't driven it in a while the ABS light comes on and stays on until I start to drive then it turns off. Maybe it's the same type of thing. The best advice is to call the dealer. They may be willing to give you some information over the phone. It's worth a try.
how old is your battery? on extremely cold days my car would do this. called the dealer and they said the 300 does this when the battery starts to die. the electronics dont get all their initial start up procedures done before the engine is cranked or something along those lines. have your battery tested.
my batteries 8 months old. throughout the winter it was fine, not until june this started to happen
Hmm don't know what to tell you then. That was my only idea. Have you gone to the lxforums? Those guys know these cars inside and out.
