Did you put the original fly wheel on the new engine ? There is a difference between the 2007 onwards and the Pre-2007 engines. They have different engine management systems. The Flywheel for the 2002 to 2006 Crank angle sensor toothed rotor has 36 minus '1' teeth and the newer fly wheel Crank angle sensor has 36 minus '2' teeth.. Check also the starter relay has not a short circuit in it. Check the fuses and relays.
