2008 Ford Bantam crank no start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 2008 Ford Bantam rocam 1.3. It cranks but
no start.  It has an older computer box used in pre
2007 bantams. I  have changed the flywheel to
match the ecu as advised and used a 36-1 tooth
flywheel. Does the position of the flywheel matter
for crank sensor pickup as I have realised that the
gap on the flywheel is +- 120° off TDC with piston
no. 1 on TDC.  Should the flywheel gap also be
aligned to TDC? Please assist.

I had a few of these. The starter solenoid wire is running in the same channel as the crank angle sensor. When the starter solenoid is energized this induces a higher voltage into the crank angle sensor wiring. Move this solenoid wire out of the crank angle sensor wiring channel. Check the condition of the main starter cable from the battery to the starter. Clean the terminals and the amperage draw on this cable. Check the earth cable from the battery negative to the body and fit an extra earth cable from the battery Neg terminal to the gearbox.

As far as I know, the flywheel fits only one way. Check the TDC on the crankshaft timing gear.
