They might. The 1.3 for USA sales was required to be non- interference, but if the 1.3 was sold out of the USA it may be an interference engine. Is it the SOHC 8 valve version? What country is this car located?

Did some reading, but did not find proof the the non USA 1.3 was interference. This one is "Google" intensive.

Yes, this is ROCAM engine. These engines were built in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. They are also available in a 1600
