My 2004 rodeo surges if i change gears a tad to early any ideas why it would do this. Its only just started happening two days ago. Thanks for any info

Does it smoothly surge or choppy misfire. Could be tune up time.

smoothly it surges any time the gears to high for the load its wierd then it drops to normal once the load is back to normal

Sounds like a vacuum control problem affecting ignition advancing or or not. But I've been wrong before. Could try a code check.
