possibly. the first time it shut down, it refused to crank, so you replaced the battery ? after you replaced the battery, all it does is crank over with no sign of trying to start ?how old and how many miles on this vehicle ?

ok, if the engine hasn't had a timing belt replacement and the answer to the other questions is affirmative, this would be a good thing to check. just to be safe, first have someone listen for the fuel pump at the gas filler with the gas cap removed. turn the ignition to the on position and you should be able to hear the fuel pump, even if only for a few moments. if you hear the pump, move on to checking for a broken timing belt. let me go back a bit. after you confirm the pump runs, check for fire to the spark plugs.
