1977 vette help please?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm thinking about buying this 1977 L82 vette but some people are saying not to
because the rear end sucks and that was the worst year for vettes. Car has
only 48k on it and 1 owner. he's asking 14k for it. Body is straight, no rust, etc. I
don't know anything about these cars. can somebody help. gkuter702@aol.com

Have a Vette mechanic check it out first. Any car around that era is a smog pig. I would either go pre 1972 or much later as in the 90's.

not worried about smog. no smog needed here in vegas for that year. I just heard that the rear end on this year sucks.

By smog pig I mean the smog systems of that era sucked all the power out of the car. A Camry with 200,000 miles would be faster. Embarrassing at stop light drags.
