how much horse and torque will my stock 79 rearend hold up to before problems

not much more than the torque and hp it already has,because of the independent rearend they have.

To be safe stay below the 400-HP 400-Ft/Lb Torque level and your transmission and rear end will be happy and so will your wallet.

from what i read when they got over 500 in 69 on certain ones they would not hold up,like stingray said if you got a wallet for it they make it.
