1997-2004 are the fifth generation. The bodies should be close.

Thank you, I'm trying to decide between a 1998 or 2000 vette

the c5's r kinda sketchy, had a lot of build issues, but nothing too serious....the 2000 had oil r problems at high RPMs that the 98 didnt, due to a new PCV system that wasnt exactly working properly.....otherwise all c5's had excessive fuel pump noise, the clutch throwout bearing makes noise, brake rotors that warp fairly easy, and the steering column has been known to get stuck in the locked position, even after ignition
