Can I put a 289 in my 2000 ford courier, live in Australia

Any engine that is different or larger than the original requires custom work. Will it fit? Find a shop that can help or do some online research. will the 289 be using a carb setup? Most probably you will need a transmission, driveshaft and new exhaust. How much do you want to spend on the conversion? Unless you want a one off fast sleeper truck, I would find something a little newer that has the power you need.
A 289 is pretty compact. It should fit but if you can't do the work yourself the custom work will be very expen$ive. I assume if you knew how you would not ask. If smog laws are a concern down under the old 289 will never pass a smog check.
