Mine says GMC all the way. GM makes both obviously, and perhaps GMC ran out of them at the dealership and they gave a Chevy key fob that will work when programed to the GMC to the owner. I'm sure this is not the only item that can be interchangeable. I had a lot of Chevelle parts on my 69 Corvette because they were actually the same, but cost 66% less.

I noticed that on all GMC's terrains the word terrain is on the back of the SUV, mine is missing it, can I get one somewhere

Sagaris_1016 , yes you can get the "Terrain" sticker either at a dealer or a car repair business. Did you buy the GMC new? Make sure it is part of the package you got, or if it is used, was it in an accident and the business that repaired it forgot to put it on. Here is a picture of my 2014 at Yellowstone. The rest badge is on the lower left side of the rear hatch.

Mine has the same thing but do note that the GMC Terrain is the same as the Chevy equinox so most parts between the two can be interchanged

Some posted a question "Is Chevrolet on the back of the keys?" No, not on my keys. It says "GMC". They GMC division is owned by the Chevrolet Corporation though.
