Use what the owner's manual suggests or just take it to a Chrysler dealership and have them change the oil. I would avoid the Jiffy Lube type places.

If you change it yourself use a name brand oil. If it is a non turbo charged engine I would use conventional oil or a synthetic blend (Motoercraft make a great oil) and change it at 7,500 miles or 1 year whichever comes first.

yeah I had negative history with the service dept previously from the same dealership, however I did purchase a Chrysler 200 from the dealership, the sales dept worked hard to get me in the new vehicle I really do not feel comfortable having them change the oil so I would rather go to a different chrysler dealership that does not have history with me and let them change the oil....fair?

I wouldn't have the dealership change your oil if you can do it on your own personally. If you can get x amount of oil changes at the dealership for a flat rate that's one thing but otherwise a conventional motor oil change can be ridiculous in price. Some Mopar express lane oil changes aren't too high and include wiper blades if needed and other fluids topped off and checked along with front end parts being greased (ball joints etc). The cost of Valvoline or Mobil 1 synthetic oil on Amazon or at Walmart and a good filter is more cost effective though even with a tube of the proper grease and a grease gun. $70 plus for a synthetic oil change is insane to me and unless O'Reilly auto or other parts stores have a sale on good oil I would avoid them as well since there's a $20 difference between them and Walmart

Have a dealership change your oil. They often have prices competitive with the quick lube places and they know your vehicle better than anyone else. Do NOT have the oil changed at Walmart as you might be asking for trouble. Just avoid buying any suggested add on services that don't pertain to oil changes at the dealership.
