What is the effect of 10% ethenol on octane rating

Because ethanol has an octane rating of 113, adding 10% ethanol to gasoline raises the finished fuel's octane rating by 2 or 3 points, improving the fuel's performance.

I posted something prematurely. and upon further research discovered tenspeed's source of information is better that mine, more trustworthy and I deleted it. I had disagreed, but was wrong.
