Electrics in Car

Asked by MissSarah79 Aug 16, 2017 at 10:59 AM about the Audi A3 Sportback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Any help on this would be appreciated.  I have a 2008 Audi A3 1.9 TDi
Sportback.  I've owned this car since October 2011.  A little while ago and
few electrical things stopped working in my car.  I have listed these below as
there are quite a few!

Driver's door lock - door still automatically locks when driving off but indicator
light to show the car is locked doesn't light up anymore
Car alarm doesn't sound but the hazards still flash
Cannot open back drivers side window from the controls in the front or from
the back
When locking the door with the fob the indicators do flash on unlocking but
do not flash on locking.

This all stopped working at the same time so might be something to do with
a fuse.

Any thoughts on what this might be and how much it may cost to get fixed?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Sarah my à3 had the same issue. For the door you need to replace the door lock mechanism no sense in repairing as it will stop again... For the window you will need a new window motor. For the door lock rather replace the entire set for all the doors... The locking and unlocking issue will be fine after this as there is a sensor in the door lock that sends signals to control module to determine if the door is locked or unlocked. And get the inside of the doors cleaned while you there as they do get dirty over Time leading to the locking issue you having
