MANUAL TRANSMISSION POPPING OUT OF GEAR

I HAVE A 2006 SUBARU STI WITH A 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION THAT KEEPS POPPING OUT OF 6TH GEAR. I WORK AT A DEALER AND MY TECH HAS REMOVED THE TRANS NUMEROUS TIMES, LAST TIME WE WENT STEP BY STEP OVERHAULING TRANS. WHEN THE VEHICLE 1ST CAME IN IT HAD NO REVERSE AS THE CUSTOMER WENT TO SHIFT INTO 6TH AND HIT REVERSE.

Sorry...misread your query. Hate to suggest you use a bungee cord to keep 'er in 6th, but that's what a few last gaspers have had to resort to. As you know STi stuff varies, so chasing this problem with the 6 speed may require a broader request. Any Subaru dealer who's principals track STi's may be able to help. Do a search.
