how to stop lifter ticking?

well as you all know our cars have lifter ticking after a while. i tried thicker oil and all that did was lower my oil psi. it was 10w-40 mobile 1 now im using 10w-30 and the psi is much better. but i still have the lifter ticking. HOW DO YOU FIX THIS??

The correct way to eliminate lifter noise is to adjust the valvetrain back to factory specfications.

Well as the engine runs the valve lash slowly increases. If they are not re-tightened periodically then the keep getting looser to the point that they tick.To fix this the valve clearances are set back to what they were originally when the engine was first assembled.

Larry 300zx are fitted with hydraulic valve lifters and therefor require no adjustment. They get blocked with oil varnish over time and either need cleaning or replacement.

use full synth oil only and do correct oil changes and use good weight oil
