Which car should I buy?!

Ok, so there are two cars that I wouldn't mine driving as my first car. There is a Porsche Boxster s
for sale near me going for 5,000$. However, there happens to be a 1971 volkswagon beetle for
sale priced at 6,000$. The car would be my daily driver and it's job would be to get me to school
and work. I have loved volkswagon beetles my whole life due to the herbie movie series. I also love
Porsche. WHICH SHOULD I BUY?

Neither one are good choices for a first time car owner needing a daily driver. Both will test your mechanical skills and pocketbook. TBH, the price on that Porsche seems way off, even rotted out 914's get more than that.
Ken is right on the value. A stripped Boxster shell has to be worth at least 5k. Look for major rot. If you are reasonably handy and don't commute far the Beetle could be a good choice in my opinion. For that price it should be quite nice.
