Started and ran fine last week. Now, it just cranks over but I'm not getting ignition. Battery strong, engine turns over fast, have over a quarter of tank of gas. It used to start almost instantly.

look at your air lines connecting to your intake, make sure their all connected and all in order, also look at your fuel injectors and spark plugs... sometimes its not getting enough fuel or no spark, now is your d21 the old ka24de or the z24 carb?
also if you have a 87 and its a automatic, its probably not in gear, just turn it fully off, put it in gear (take it from Park to 1st back to Park) then try starting it, ive noticed on these older trucks they seem not to go into gear, and when not in gear they wont start
Get a real truck Go diesel ok but really 1 spark 2 air flow 3 fuel if you spray eather in the air intake does it fire? do you have spark on any or all cyclenders? check cap and rotor Hope this helps

Heh guys I have a very rare and mint 87 d21 vg30e TBI engine it will run if you feed the throttle body been in storage 12 years !! Went over the ignition and cleaned the tank and new fuel filter injectors are functioning I've tested them cleaned intire throttle body open to any clues dave
On a 1986 Nissan hardbody d21 the 2nd relay from the back control fuel injectors. Won't get injectors to fire if it is bad. Says main on the cover. Had all the trouble in the world with mine till I replaced it. Crank but no start. Run beautiful now!
Haynes book says nothing about the relays and what they control!
