battery light was on, car died couldnt start, had it jump started car started, 10 kms later car looses power, all gauges going haywire car dies jump started again.

also found some kind of thin black rubber belt tangled by the engine. Please help

Fairly easy fix. Get you a new serpentine belt installed. I would also have battery fully charged while you are waiting. This will keep from putting unnecessary load on alternator when you get new belt on.
