What car is more reliable, Audi a3 or Mazda 3? Both are hatchbacks.

Asked by Roberto Feb 19, 2014 at 03:28 PM about the Audi A3

Question type: General

I'm a college student who makes
around 700 a month. I want a
hatchback so I'm choosing between
these two. I know audis are high
maintenance and parts are more
expensive. But in know they last a
long time. I just need something that
will be more reliable. I don't mind
spending more money if it means it'll
last longer and more durable

I'd go for the Mazda, parts are cheap and maintenance is inexpensive, my folks had one and it had 250000km when they sold it, no issues at all. A buddy of mine has an 2006 A3 2.0T and he's had nothing but problems and it's under 150000km.

Thanks you guys. It's just that I heard good and bad things on audis. I love them but I feel like I'd enjoy the Mazda more. Especially customizing it.

There are good and bad reviews on both cars. Audi has been a leader in the industry for decades. Mazda. Not so much.. Regarding the 3 that you are considering I suggest driving both before buying. You will see a major difference in the way each drives. Make your decision off of what car feels best to you. Me? I'm Audi all the way! You may like the Mazda. Both are good cars!
