buick lacross cranks wont start

this morning i started the car...i started up then shut off when i put it in
gear,,,, it acts like it wants to turn over but wont. coworker put jumper cables
on it thinking that might help but nothing cranks but wont turn over. the 2008
only has 73k miles(belong to parents prior) battery is only about 2 years old.
does receive normal maintenance upkeep. recently the remote start on fob
was fixed and still getting used to. yesterday attempted to try to work but not
starting issue. also noticed that cranked a few seconds after turning the key
off.  anny advice would be appreciated.

Make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good? If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs? If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and check fuel injector pulse? Any applicable trouble codes? Those are the basic checks, in my opinion. Let us know what you find?
