hi, i mostly drive on long routes and the roads are mostly bumpy., i hav corolla 9th generation 1.3 L. standard rim size is 15 inch, i was a bit confused whether or not to go for a 16 inch rim size. because i'v heard that a 16inch rim may damage the shocks..., is it true ??

Over bumpy roads you are better off staying with the stock sized rims. By going to a 16" rim, you will have to change the aspect ratio on your tires to a lower profile tire (high performance type). If you hit a pothole with a 16" rim and a lower aspect ratio tire, the possibility of damaging the tire and or wheel is far greater than the 15" wheel. At a point of impact on any vehicle with any size rim, the tire will first absorb the impact and if the impact is hard enough it will bend the wheel. Only under severe impacts will the suspension be effected, usually in the lower control arm, not the struts. In your circumstance of driving on rough roads, I'd stay with the 15" rims.

stay with the 15s and put on 85 series tires. the taller tires will act as a pothole shockabsorber, less blowouts and wheel damage. i should know, i live near chicago and its pothole hell.
