what to look for: fox-body 5.0 v8
want to buy a fox body, preferably early 90's, maybe late 80's. i want to find a 5 liter v8 that hasn't been trashed like most around for less than 5k. ANYTHING TO LOOK FOR WHEN SHOPPING FOR ONE? THINGS LIKE PROBLEM AREAS THAT SUGEST A HARD LIFE? thanks everyone

89 or later have mass air which makes for better mods. check tyranny for gear grind on all manual trans.
yup, found that online. i think i would rather buy a stock 93, verus a modded 89 just so i can buy a non-beaten, reliable driver. stock is enough i think, unless i find the right car
The 5.0 can take a lot of abuse. It's a really well built engine
Look for an LX...if you get an LX 5.0, the only differences are basically cosmetic. Check out the subframe where it attaches under the car. If its cracked or doesn't seem right, the car could have been driven hard...that's why people put subframe connectors in. The engines are pretty bulletproof, I'd recommend a stick shift as none of the automatics available in these cars in the late 80's early 90's were exceptionally reliable.
