I am looking at a 97 ford mustang convertible it has over 200,000 on it the owner says it still runs fine daily driver she is asking 950 for it I wanted to know if a car engine will last much longer if it has such high mileage ? Also check engine light was on has been on for six months still drives

It's all about proper maintenance. If it drives out ok, no weird sounds, shifts good and no major leaks for 950 that's a fairly good price. If in USA stop by auto zone while test driving have them read the codes. Most will do for free. Post codes back on here and we can help you understand why the cel is on and how big a problem it might be.
You can't go too far wrong for $950. But do as dandyyoun suggested, get the OBDII codes. Look at the oil, make sure it looks right, no water in it. Drive it and see if it shifts ok. And I mean that for either manual or auto. Ask if there are service records. Run a CarFax...it's money well spent.

Thank you all great answers I did purchase it for 850 but it is having an issue with stalling I will start it put it in reverse it will stall start again drive then will start stalling and sometimes completely stall out I recently had the gas seal changed Can you help me with some suggestions ?
