water getting in the car

when it rains hard my mustang pours water on passenger floor board for up under the dash why would this be happing

water from the cowl and windshield drains to the ground via channels in the fender if those get fouled up with debris it can cause water to back up in the cowl area, get in there and clean it out. Make sure the drain for the heater box is also clear of debris. You'll see where the vent inlet for outside air is in the cowl, that should also have a drain. Basically go through all these areas and clear the drains. If you absolutely cannot find the leak, get the UV dyes from a parts store, just add a drop of dye on the outside of the car, run a hose over that area, and see if you see the dye on the inside of the car. If not move on to another area.
