speed sensor

what does speed sensor A do?(besides gauge speed) and what is affected when it goes bad? does it affect the automatic gear seletion? mine seems to be going bad and I could not get truck into reverse when the engine light came on  (light off and now OK).

Can only give you a generic answer as you did not provide year and engine Yes it will effect some transmission operation - Usually NOT reverse though Good Luck
