Ford Escape codes

I have a picture of my engine on in my car. (I am assuming this is the check engine light) I have read that you can click your ignition  in a sequence and get a code. How do I find out this sequence? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have never heard of this,if you have a check engine light on,go to auto zone they will scan it for free and be able to tell what code is reading and tell the part that is bad.

The turning of the ignition switch only works on old Jeeps. Anything OBD II or newer needs a scan tool. I thought the other guy was a 35 year ASE tec, and didn't know the key switch trick???
