On my '97 I had same problem. I had to replace 2 coils, 2 plugs (all replaced in the end) new Exhaust manifold (broken bolts on one side) and cat converters replaced (one side, one straight and one 45 degree). Runs smooth again but I have a feeling next year the other side will go. Clogged cat converters maybe giving you rough acceleration and shaking. I love that machine so I thought it was worth the investment. All the best.
