2nd row bench seat

Asked by Silversport Apr 08, 2015 at 07:17 PM about the Ford Explorer Sport

Question type: Car Customization

I just bought a new explorer and realized
that with the horrible design of the 2nd row
bench seat I can't fit my three children in
comfortably.  I thought I did all my research
and even when comparing vehicles side by
side the explorer was one of the biggest.
Also when looking at it, it looked huge but
the horrible design and the locations of the
seat belts make it really uncomfortable to
put a child in the middle, they are basically
sitting on the seat belts. I'm hopig that
ssomeone knows if there is a vehicle which
has a bench seat that will fit or if anyone
knows were I can get one custom made.

Please help.

Try looking into the older explorer sports. It might be that the bench will interchange-they are three seaters!!!! :) I'm looking to do the same thing:)

I bought a 2018 explorer with bench seat in 2nd row and just realized this horrible design flaw. I am surprised that for has not look at it. I owned an altima and the back seat can comfortably seat 3. This is horrible design.
