Replace rotors
1 Answer
Jack up car and support with jack stands. Remove wheel/tire. Remove the bolts that hold the caliper on. Remove caliper and rotor, remove the old brake pads. Use a tool to compress the piston back into the caliper, I use a large C clamp. Clean the slide bolts that hold the two caliper halves together and lube them, if you have a new hardware kit, install the new brake hardware. Install the pads and install the rotor and caliper back onto the car. I use a little Loctite on the bolts. Install the wheel and tire. Pump the brakes while the car is running but in park before driving.
