Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Put about 8 gallons of diesel in gas tank, and tried the primer button several times along with turning the key to on and off like the manual said to; but fuel pump won't. Turn on; truck sounds like it wants to turn over, but doesn't quite make it. Can you please help?

The proper priming procedure must be followed to get it running and that information should be in the owner's manual, Also the fuel filter may or may not have to be replaced. Running a diesel out of fuel can be hard on the pump and the injectors and these items can be very expensive.

Thank you Tom, did get a lifetime pump, your right it definitely needs replacing; hopefully that will fix the problem w no other problems. KLynn
