how do i check to see why the service engine soon light

If the vehicle is a 1996 or newer model visit your local auto parts store and have them scan the computer for trouble codes. Most stores will do it for free. If it's a 1995 or older model you'll need to have a shop who still has the equipment to scan OBD I vehicles pull the trouble codes for you. Hope that helps! Jim
